This is a clean, apolitical astrological examination of the fixed stars in the natal chart of Emmanuel Macron. It takes no side. It is not an opinion for or against him, his government or his party, and it predicts no election, no trial, no illness and no accident. What follows is doctrine: what the fixed stars promise in character and public life, judged by Ptolemy, Vivian Robson and the classical tradition. Nothing more, and nothing less.

The chart is diurnal, Ascendant 28° Capricorn, Midheaven 29° Scorpio, computed with NASA ephemerides for 21 December 1977, 10:40, in Amiens. The fixed stars in the natal chart of Emmanuel Macron are unusually dense: more than a dozen conjunctions within one degree, several of them partile. That density is the real subject of this article.

Why the fixed stars matter here

Robson, in his Fixed Stars and Constellations in Astrology (1923), is clear that stars do not act on their own. They colour the planet they touch and amplify or corrupt its promise. A star conjunct a planet within one degree is a permanent condition of that planet's expression.

In this chart the stars strike the angles and the sect light directly. The Ascendant carries four stars within half a degree; the Moon, ruler of the seventh and sixth, carries two; Saturn, lord of the Ascendant and of the twelfth, carries four. This is not a chart where the stars whisper. They speak.

The Ascendant: Homam, Markab, Lesath, Shaula

The Ascendant at 28° Capricorn is conjunct Homam (0.05°), Markab (0.09°), Lesath (0.18°) and Shaula (0.29°). All four are of Mars-Mercury nature in Robson's tables: valour, activity, speed, heroism, but also danger, sharpness and a sting in words and deeds.

Robson gives Markab honours, riches and fortune, with a warning of fire, fever, cuts and violence. Shaula he describes as quick perception and impetuosity, "a sharp sting in words and works". Lesath adds danger and desperation; Homam adds the courage of the fast horse. Together they describe a native whose very presence is quick, combative and exposed.

This is the Ascendant of a man who moves fast and cuts in argument. The stars do not make him gentle. They make him sharp.

Regulus and Saturn: the royal star on the lord of the Ascendant

The most consequential conjunction in the chart is Saturn at 29° Virgo, conjunct Regulus at 0.94° orb. Regulus is the Heart of the Lion, the royal star of the North, of Mars-Jupiter nature. Robson: "conquests glorious, great fortune, leadership and nobility", a meteoric rise, with one strict condition — avoid revenge, or lose the greatness.

Saturn here is lord of the Ascendant and of the twelfth, placed in the seventh, and square the Midheaven at 1.10°. By Morin's Theorem 65, the lord of the Ascendant in the seventh directs the native's energy toward the affairs of that house: the other, the public, the adversary, the partner. By Theorem 21, Saturn aspecting the MC pours the affairs of the first and twelfth onto profession, honours and authority.

So Regulus does not sit on a quiet planet. It sits on the ruler of the native's own life, in the house of the public, aimed at the Midheaven. Classical tradition would read this as a career built on visibility and authority, with the Regulus condition attached: the rise is real, and so is the price of vengeance.

Saturn also carries Megrez (0.29°) and Phecda (0.30°), both of Mars nature in Robson — violent, destructive, boastful. These are the hard stars of the Great Bear, and they qualify the Regulus promise with a warning about severity. The same Saturn trines Mercury at 0.59° and the Sun at 1.04°, which softens the delivery: the severity is disciplined, articulate, strategic.

Alcyone on the IC

The IC at 29° Scorpio is conjunct Alcyone at 0.61°, the chief star of the Pleiades, of Moon-Mars nature. Robson: eminence and distinction, but with an ambitious and turbulent character; sudden falls of fortune; grief and sorrow, and a tragic end if badly aspected.

Alcyone on the IC touches roots, home, family and the private foundation of the life. It is the counterweight to Regulus on the MC axis. The tradition reads this pair as a life of high visibility resting on a private ground that is neither calm nor simple.

The Moon, Venus and the rest

The Moon at 4° Taurus is exalted, in the third, and conjunct Almach (0.57°) and Menkar (0.48°). Almach, of Venus nature, gives eminence, artistic talent, wide renown, honours and riches through the protection of others. Menkar, of Saturn nature, gives illness, dishonour, ruin and general misfortune. Two stars of opposite promise on the same luminary: the classical reading is a public reputation that rises and falls, protected and attacked by turns.

Venus at 17° Sagittarius is conjunct Ras Alhague (0.33°), of Saturn-Venus nature. Robson lists misfortune through women, perverted tastes, mental depravity — and also healers, herbalists, an interest in medicine and drugs. In the eleventh house, this Venus is peregrine and rules the third and fourth. The star adds a medicinal, curative note to a public Venus, and a warning about the company kept.

Uranus at 12° Scorpio is conjunct Zuben Elgenubi at 0.06° — partile. Robson: the karma of transformation, social justice, generosity that sacrifices, with risk of loss. In the ninth house, this is the reformer's star: the impulse to reshape law, education or foreign policy, at personal cost.

Neptune at 15° Sagittarius is conjunct Sabik (1.29°), of Saturn-Venus nature: waste, lost energy, moral inversion, success in bad actions, and again the healer. In the tenth, it clouds the Midheaven with image and illusion. Chiron at 1° Taurus is conjunct Mira (0.11°) and Mirach (1.23°): alternating success and obscurity, artistic and mystical temperament, beauty and good fortune through marriage.

Finally, the North Node at 12° Libra is conjunct Algorab (0.97°), of Mars-Saturn nature — destructiveness, malevolence, lying. Bonatti and Lilly hold that the Nodes amplify the house they occupy. In the eighth, with Pluto conjunct the same degree, this is the heaviest single signature in the chart: the Node of increase carrying a carrion star into the house of other people's money and hidden things.

How the stars combine

The chart has two poles. The first is the Regulus-Saturn conjunction on the Ascendant ruler, squared to the MC and trined by Sun and Mercury: a public career of authority, built on discipline and speech. The second is the Alcyone IC and the Algorab Node: a private foundation under pressure and a hidden vulnerability around money and secrets.

Between them sit Almach and Menkar on the Moon, Ras Alhague on Venus, Zuben Elgenubi on Uranus. The tradition would say the native is lifted by stars of renown and tested by stars of loss, and that the balance is decided by conduct, not by fate. Regulus, in particular, is conditional: Robson's warning about revenge is not decoration.
